A poetically-inspired studio porcelain vase painted with an egret perched upon a branch under cascading willow leaves. Pale green, soft blue and white against a beautiful matte cream ground define the gentle mood of the piece. This special vase is characteristic of the finely-conceived work of the respected Meiji artist, Nishiura, and his blue-enameled seal can be found on the base.

A tapered, studio porcelain vase with softly rounded shoulders and small flared neck executed on a matte, iron-red ground. Upon its surface, in creamy-white enamel, groves of wild kiku grow, their petals overlapping and leaves overturned to convey an exquisite kind of passionate floral imagery. Makuzu Kozan's signature in underglaze blue characters appears on the base. This studio porcelain vase is in excellent condition.

A large baluster-formed studio porcelain vase executed in various brilliantly colored enamels on a lustrous white ground. Small groves of kiku and bamboo rise from the foot of the vase and give way to gnarled flowering trees. Dramatic, convoluted clouds done in a transmutation glaze, provide an element of painterly surprise through the use of rich shades of greenish-blue.This striking porcelain vase is in excellent condition.

This is a lovely convex-formed Rimpa-style lacquered wood box with rounded corners. On the lid, a quiet scene of a hut under a plum tree
is inlaid and overlaid with pewter, gold maki-e and aogai. This
charming work of art is executed in the bold and sinuous style
characteristic of the work of the great master, Korin. The box is in
very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Signed
Setsugyoku on the lid.

This is a large, splendid studio porcelain vase of ovoid form with lappets
along the
rim and foot in underglaze blue. On its lustrous white-enameled ground,
lovely butterflies and bees flit around sprays of mauve peonies, blue iris and leaves,
abundant overall.
This fabulous vase is in excellent condition with no damage or
restoration.
Hoshiaki signature can be found on the base.
