This is a charming small, cylindrical covered box with an amusing minogame finial. (The minogame is a mythological long-tailed turtle associated with longevity.) Its yellow-glazed ground creates a wonderful contrast to the cobalt blue lappets framing imagery of landscape scenes, pine, sakura and bamboo.
The great ceramist MAKUZU KOZAN's signature on the base. The box is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
