This is a charming lacquered wood kogo (box) modeled as a turtle carrying
its
young on its back. The box exhibits extensive carved details in an
effort to depict the roughness of the turtle's skin and the
pattern on its carapace. Hinged mechanism opens and closes the box.
The box is in mint condition
with no chips, cracks or restoration.
