A fine full-bodied porcelain vase with everted lip, its fluid lines characteristic of the work of the great ceramist, Makuzu Kozan. Cascading branches of wisteria in deep purple and white enamels spread across its sinuous shape, the pale sea-green ground color highlighting the lovely deep colors of the flowers and the tracery of white blooms underneath. Makuzu Kozan signature cartouche on base. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Height: 9.75" Meiji Period, Japan
