| A fully carved boxwood okimono of a seated priest with a jui (scepter) carved of white and brown agate in his right hand. The priest's robe is carved carefully as it eddies about his feet, the sleeves cascading from his broad shoulders in sweeping folds on each side. His features are well detailed and his gaze pensive. Carved KIJI signature on the base. This wonderful mixed-media sculpture is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. Height: 4 1/8" Meiji Period, Japan | ||||||||
