Embroidered Tobacco Pouch with Kagamibuta Netsuke
A fine tobacco pouch embroidered with chrysanthemums in rich, muted colors in blue, green, brown and iron red. A large silver and enamel kanemono (clasp) with floral motif opens the pouch to reveal double-interior compartments with fan-shaped cartouches of floral studies. Its kagamibuta netsuke, attached by an elegant chain, is en suite with a 19th Century ivory exterior and silver and enamel lid in high relief. This charming tobacco pouch is in very good condition with normal wear appropriate to its age. Width: 5.75", length: 9.5" Meiji or Taisho Period, Japan
