| Here is a fully mounted wakizashi in a ribbed, black- lacquered scabbard with matching Omori-school fittings, its fushi kashira deeply carved with surging waves in silver and shakudo. The hilt is wrapped in gold- silk braid with shakudo and gilt menuki formed as a bird on a lily pad. The saya includes a sentoku kozuka knife inlaid with shibuichi, gold and silver, signed Nao Yasu, and well-carved with a samurai on horseback galloping through waves. The blade has an excellent wave-patterned hamon and is in very good condition. The blade is unsigned and dates from the Shinto Period (17th Century), Japan | |||||||||||
