| This elegant Satsuma ewer with exquisite brocading and handle and spout formed as bamboo is enameled with a continuous scene of the popular Japanese art theme, "Three Friends of Winter". Designed asymmetrically in multi-colored enamels with spiraling gosu blue streams, bamboo and salmon-hued and white -enamel kiku in relief bloom along a gnarled plum blossom tree. This Satsuma ewer is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Gilt signature, Satsuma yaki and Kinshyu-en at base. Height: 6.5" 19th Century, Japan | |||||||||||
