| Here is large boxwood model of a spiraling, craggy mountain fully carved in the round. Three tortoises, also carved of boxwood in great detail, slowly clamber their way up the mountain, resting on its naturally formed recesses. This massive, sculptural okimono is crafted out of one piece of boxwood, rendered in great detail, with particular attention to the carapaces and simulation of the creatures' rough skin texture.
