| This is a pair of exquisitely crafted fuchi kashira worked in partly hammered copper, gilt and shakudo. On its small surfaces, the set shows members of The Seven Gods of Fortune finely executed in low relief. On the fuchi, Daikoku, with his characteristic mirthful expression holds a mallet executed in finely incised details and low relief. On the kashira, Hotei rests upon his treasure sack while Shoki, the demon queller, appears under pine tree, all deeply carved. This set of fuchi kashira is in excellent condition with no loss, damage or restoration. 19th Century, Japan | ||||||||
