| This is a luxurious five-case, gold-lacquered inro depicting a grove of foliage and flowers in gold and silver takamaki-e on a gold kinji ground. The foliage is naturalistically rendered with kirikane details, the interiors executed in rich amber-colored nashiji. A coral ojime keeps the woven silk string in place. This inro is in very good condition with the raised signature of Kogyoku Sai on the base. 19th Century, Japan | |||||||||
