| This is a charming Satsuma earthenware kogo of circular form with an amusing scene on its lid. Each of the many figures designed on the lid is engaged in a passionate dance with hands, feet and fans in the air. The delightful dance is rendered in minute detail in beautiful jewel-toned enamels. The two interiors, top and bottom, are painted with lush ikebana arrangements in pastel-hued enamels and gilt detailing. Surrounding the base of the kogo, luxuriously patterned fabrics flutter in-mid air. This lovely piece has the rich Kaizan gilt signature cartouche centered on the base.The amusing kogo is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.
