| A marvelous tall-necked bronze vase of lobed form. 19th century Japanese metalworkers are greatly renowned for their advances in metalurgy and the development of new, sophisticated alloys. On this vase, the artist created a copper-splashed patination on the bronze surface without inlays or carving techniques. The artist achieved a wondrous effect through the uncanny use of the metal, relying on the beauty of its traditional and very Japanese form. Signature on the base by Seikoku. This vase is in good condition with slight and small mottling on one lobe, barely perceptible. Height: 18" Meiji Period, Japan | ||||||||
