| Here is a silver okimono wonderfully sculpted in fluid form as a giant wave with a rare smoked rock crystal globe, the latter symbolizing tama (a tide-controlling jewel of the sea). In Japanese art, the tama is associated as one of the attributes of Ryugin, the Dragon King of the Sea, while the thrashing wave relates to Japan's affinity to the ocean and sea life. This lovely silver sculpture is in excellent condition, with no problems. Length: 8" Meiji Period, Japan | ||||||
