| An exquisite gold maki-e covered box inlaid with aogai and sculpt as three shells. Three images, consisting of a Bugaku drum with tomoe (three-comma), Mt. Fuji, pine and flowering branches and a pavilion framed by rich foliage, are executed in takamaki-e, kirikane and togadashi on its polished kinji ground. Within, sakura petals fall on dense nashiji ground. This gold-lacquered box is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration and includes tomobako and silks.
