A BEAUTIFUL SILVER OVER COPPER PIERCED AND FOOTED BOWL WITH UNUSUAL CROWN DESIGN. Probably of French origin. 19th Century. Marked on the underside with indistinct marks (see enlargement 6). The bowl has a height of approximately 3 1/4 inches with a width of 7 inches. The pierced bowl features, in the center, an applied cast CROWN similar in design to the British Royal crown but with a fleur-de-lys motif which implies a French attribution (see enlargements 3 & 8). A STERLING SILVER SALT SPOON. NEWCASTLE, 1809-1810. Maker's mark IW (John Walton?). A fine fiddle handle salt spoon measuring 4 inches in length. No monogram. See enlargement 3 for marks. In very good condition.

A MATCHED SET OF SIX SCOTTISH STERLING SILVER SPOONS. EDINBURGH, CIRCA 1795. Five of the six spoons have the maker's mark of ALEXANDER ZIEGLER. One of the six spoons has the maker's mark of ALEXANDER HENDERSON. Each spoon is engraved in block letters P - over - E + A. Please see enlargements for marks. Length of each spoon is 5 1/4 inches. In very good condition.

With two sets of engraved initials on the terminal: 1). feathered script initials HBT - over - 2). script initials FHS. There is some wear to the tip of the bowl otherwise in very good condition.

ALBERT COLES COIN SILVER TABLESPOON. New York City, N.Y. Circa 1860. Stamped on the back with Coles' early incised mark - A.COLES and his series of three pseudo-hallmarks - eagle, A-over-C punch in a diamond, and "funny face man" (worn). A FIDDLE AND THREAD pattern spoon measuring 8 3/8 inches in length. Feathered script initials MDB. Overall, the spoon is in excellent condition. Weighs 1.8 ounces.

AN ANTIQUE FRENCH SILVER TEA STRAINER. 950 silver (higher than sterling which is 925). French hallmarks. A basket shaped strainer bordered with a swag design. The strainer is designed with a long twisted prong that may be attached to the teapot by inserting it into the teapot's spout when pouring the tea thus allowing for one's hands to be free for handling a cup in one hand and the teapot in the other. AN ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER MECHANICAL TOOTHPICK. Birmingham, England, 1896. Fully hallmarked with the maker's mark A.B & CO., anchor, lion passant, date letter. The piece has engine turned engraving and is set with a purple stone at the top (amethyst?). A movable circular band propels the pointed toothpick forward when needed and retracts it for the closed position. See enlargements showing both closed and open positions.
