A PAIR OF CHILDREN's NURSERY TILES. ENGLAND, c. 1915. Each tile measures 4" x 4" x 5/8". A charming set of two tiles: 1.) A scene showing a boy and girl. The girl has a carriage holding a Teddy Bear; 2.) A girl holding a lighted candle. She is about to put to bed her Teddy Bear & Golliwog. Some crazing and small chip to side edge of tile #2 but in overall excellent condition.
A "NEW CAVALIERS" ROYAL DOULTON RACK PLATE DESIGNED BY C.J.NOKE. Design number D3051. The plate has an impressed date mark on the back of (19)09. The plate depicts three Cavaliers within a border that features lions and shields (please see enlargements). The colors are very handsome in greens, blues and browns. Very light overall crazing (which is normal) otherwise in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The plate measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter.
A fine WEDGWOOD BLUE & WHITE TRANSFER PLATE of GEORGE WASHINGTON'S "MOUNT VERNON". Dated 1900. Fully marked with Wedgwood's marks (stamped and incised) and with the stamp of the "Sole Importer" and 1899 copyright owner - J.W. DUFFIELD & STRATTON of Boston. The plate features a view of Washington's Mt. Vernon, Virginia home. The plate measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter. A Staffordshire plate by W. Adams & Sons. Molded border design (between ochre bands) of acorns, pineapples, and apples. The center features a scenic transfer print with overglaze painting in green, yellow, red, and blue. Underglaze stamp on the back captioned "Italian Scenery". There is a small flake to the ochre band (see enlargement 3) and light crazing otherwise in fine condition. Measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter.
A Copeland/Spode plate, 1917.
