A BEAUTIFUL SILVER OVER COPPER PIERCED AND FOOTED BOWL WITH UNUSUAL CROWN DESIGN. Probably of French origin. 19th Century. Marked on the underside with indistinct marks (see enlargement 6). The bowl has a height of approximately 3 1/4 inches with a width of 7 inches. The pierced bowl features, in the center, an applied cast CROWN similar in design to the British Royal crown but with a fleur-de-lys motif which implies a French attribution (see enlargements 3 & 8). A fine antique silver plated WINE COASTER. Circa 1899. Stamped with an unidentified maker's mark (please see enlargement 6). Wood liner centered with a silver disc suitable for monogramming - felt base. The rim is beautifully decorated with a shell and leaf design (see enlargements 4 and 7 for details). The base measures 5 inches in diameter. The top measurement is 6 1/2 inches across. In fine condition.

A lavishly decorated oval ART NOUVEAU silverplated bowl, Forbes Silver Co., Meriden Ct, circa 1895. For maker's mark see enlargement 6. An oval bowl beautifully decorated around the border in the ART NOUVEAU style featuring large raised Poppy flowers, trailing stems and Poppy buds. There is general wear consistent with age and one small area in the well of the dish where the plate has worn but, overall, the piece is in quite good condition.
