A large pictorial bookplate engraved by CORNELIUS and ANDREW PAAS, of 53 High Holborn, London. The bookplate features a fine engraving depicting two winged cherubs, bearing an oval armorial shield. A fine ENGRAVED BOOKPLATE for EMMA CUNLIFFE (1780-1850). A 19th century engraved armorial octagonal bookplate. The Honorable EMMA (CREWE) CUNLIFFE (later Emma Cunliffe Offley) was the only surviving daughter of JOHN CREWE (1742-1829) of CREWE HALL, CHESHIRE. Her portrait, painted by Sir Thomas Lawrence, hangs in the HUNTINGTON LIBRARY's art collection in California. Measures approximately 3 inches by 2 1/2 inches. In excellent condition.

EX LIBRIS BOOKPLATE FOR JOHN S(OMERSET) PAKINGTON, 1st BARON HAMPTON (1799-1880). Engraved Armorial measuring 3 7/8 inches by 3 inches. Pakington was an English politician who was Member of Parliament for Droitwich 1837-1874; and served as Secretary of State for War; and First Lord of the Admiralty. The title Baron Hampton, of Hampton Lovett and of Westwood in the county of Worcester, was created in 1874. The bookplate is in very good condition.
