A fine set of FIVE CHRISTMAS ANGELS or CHERUBS. The figures are made of molded plastic and are hand-painted with gilt accents. The bases are stamped: Made in Germany. It is lettered: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM PETER RABBIT 1989. The center features Mrs. Rabbit feeding Peter Chamomile tea. There is a delightful holly decorated border with small vignettes from the book. The plate has a deep ribbed border and features a central decoration of Mrs. Rabbit with Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter. Beneath the illustration is a facsimile of Beatrix Potter's autograph.
