A fine STERLING SILVER MATCH SAFE. Chester, England, 1901. Fully hallmarked including the maker's mark R.P. Beautiful bright cut engraving on both sides. Hinged lid. With jump ring and bail for hanging on a chain plus striker at the base. In excellent condition. The match safe measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches with a depth of 3/8 inches.

A CHILD'S STERLING SILVER PORRINGER WITH RABBIT DESIGN HANDLE. The WEBSTER CO., circa 1915. Stamped on the back of the handle: STERLING (maker's mark) and 19836. The handle has an openwork design of a RABBIT wearing a bib and eating his porridge with a spoon. The bowl of the porringer has some overall minor dents but nothing that detracts from the charm of this lovely piece. The porringer measures 4 1/4 inches across the bowl and a total of 6 inches in width when including the handle.

A FINE STERLING SILVER & GILT GEORGE WASHINGTON COMMEMORATIVE SPOON. Circa 1899. By Franklin A. Whelan (1885-1926). Whelan is listed in Kovel as a Mt. Vernon, Virginia, silversmith. This spoon features a lot of MASONIC symbolism emphasizing the fact that Washington was a loyal Mason. The bowl has a wonderful silver and gilt representation of Washington's Mt.
