| A lovely ART NOUVEAU sterling silver belt buckle by William B. Kerr & Co., Newark N J, circa 1890. Stamped on the back: STERLING; (Kerr hallmark of a hatchet); (number) 2614. Also, engraved on the back are the former owner's initials - L B A, in script (see enlargement 4). Rectangular shape with scrolled edge and decorated with a very detailed raised floral design consisting of four heart-shaped cornerpieces each enclosing a single rose. A trailing design of leaves and forget-me-nots surround the opening which has a two-pronged hinged fastener. This is a solid piece and well constructed. Measures 3 1/4 inches in width by 2 1/4 inches in height. In fine condition. | |||||||
