| A gold filled brooch or pendant, Sammartino Bros., Providence R I, circa 1920s. Stamped on the back with the maker's mark and 1/20 12K. The oval brooch is fitted on the back with a hinged straight pin with safety clasp and, also, a swivel bail for wearing on a chain. The piece has a portrait miniature of a young woman in period costume. She wears roses in her powdered wig. The miniature is an ORIGINAL (not a print) and is executed on paper and signed by the artist WALTER. The portrait is bezel set under glass within a rope-twist frame. In excellent condition. Measures 1 1/4 inches in height by 1 inch in width. | ||||||
