MILITARY HEROES THAT HAVE DISTINGUISHED THEMSELVES DURING THE LATE WARS. EMBELLISHED WITH EQUESTRIAN PORTRAITS. London: R. Miller, no date (circa 1825). 16mo (5 1/2" by 3 1/2"). Original marbled boards with roan leather spine. The contents include a hand-colored title page and thirteen plates all printed from copperplate engravings. The Military Heroes are shown mounted on their horses and include: Frederick, Duke of York; Leopold, Prince of Saxe-Coburg; Emperor Alexander of Russia; King of Prussia; Duke of Wellington; Prince Blucher; Bernadotte, King of Sweden; Prince of Orange; Marquis of Anglesea; Lord Rowland Hill; Sir Thomas Picton; Sir Ralph Abercrombie. A 12 page catalogue is bound in at the back. Spine worn and contents shaken otherwise very good. A rare children's book with lively colored engravings. Osborne, p. 169.
