| A VICTORIAN BOG OAK AND FRENCH JET MOURNING BROOCH. Circa 1865. The brooch is formed of carved BOG OAK (a fossilised wood found in Ireland) and is accented with FIVE FRENCH JET FACETED BEADS. The slightly curved bog oak base features a design of OAK LEAVES and is topped by beads, possibly representing acorns, which graduate in size from approximately 5mm to 8mm. Hinged straight pin on the back with a C clasp. In very good condition. | ||||||||
