| ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. BY LEWIS CARROLL. THE VAUDEVILLE THEATRE EDITION (COVER TITLE). London: Macmillan & Co., 1899. 8vo. White pebbled cloth stamped in gilt. All edges gilt. With Forty-Two Illustrations by John Tenniel. This edition features a special binding in white cloth which, sadly here, is soiled, cocked, and has some wear (please see enlargements 1 through 7 for details of cover condition). The front cover is stamped in gilt with a facsimile greeting from the famous English actress ELLALINE TERRISS (1871-1971): "With Ellaline Terriss's love" (underlined). There are two short splits to the cloth on the back cover at the top and bottom of the spine. The contents are actually in very good CLEAN condition with no tears, dog-ears, or creases. The contents also include Lewis Carroll's "Preface to the Eighty-Sixth Thousand of the 6/- Edition"; "An Easter Greeting for Every Child Who Loves 'Alice'"; and "Christmas Greetings (From a Fairy to a Child)"; plus 3 pages of publishers advertisements "Works By Lewis Carroll".
