| A FINE AND RARE VICTORIAN ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER OPENWORK ENGRAVED CLOAK OR CAPE CLASP. (London) 1881. Hallmarked (see enlargements 8 and 9). The unidentified maker's initials are C J. The cloak fastener is made up of two separate pieces of openwork design. One is fitted with a "v" shaped hook which attaches to a series of silver rings which are fitted on the second piece - or which may attach directly to a squared loop on the second piece. There are three loops on the back of each piece for attaching to the cloak's fabric. The bright-cut engraved design on each piece adds greatly to the beauty of the fastener. Each piece measures approximately 2 3/4 inches across with a height of 2 inches. The length of the chain links is 2 3/4 inches. In excellent condition. PLEASE SEE ENLARGEMENTS FOR DETAILS. | |||||||||||||
