| "TOM, TOM, THE PIPER"S SON". A FINE COLOR WOOD ENGRAVING BY PHILIP REED. 1963. Printed on fine paper measuring 8 1/4 inches by 10 3/4 inches. Image size is approximately 3 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches. The wood engraving is printed in several colors and depicts "Tom, Tom The Piper's Son", a character from the famous MOTHER GOOSE nursery rhyme. SIGNED, in pencil, by the artist lower right. This is an ORIGINAL SIGNED PRINT printed directly from the woodblock engraved by the artist. His series of Mother Goose illustrations were also reproduced in his Caldecott Honor Award-winning book "Mother Goose" published by Atheneum in 1963. IN MINT CONDITION ready for framing. Note: the photos make the paper look darker than it actually is. The paper is a clean light cream stock. | |||||
