Elegant natsume or Japanese tea caddy turned from Kiri wood and trimmed with gold (possibly gold lacquer), first half of 20th century. Height including lid approximately 5 inches, diameter at the shoulder approximately 4 inches. Excellent estate condition.

Round silver compact with repoussé, engraved and chased design of two ducks by the water and prunus blossoms overhead, signed in Japanese. Good estate condition: intact mirror, intact powder screen, secure catch, some dents on reverse, light surface scratching. Diameter approximately 2 3/4 inches.

Circa 1978, this little bird is decorated in shades of brown on a white slip ground. Signed. Height approximately 1 3/4 inches, length approximately 1 7/8 inches. Excellent estate condition. Self-taught and hailing from the Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico, Lucy M. Lewis (1898-1992) was a widely respected, award-winning potter. Examples of her pottery are in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution and the Museum of the American Indian, both in Washington, DC.
