An antique, beautifully worked Sinhalese dagger with its original scabbard. The grip is of finely carved horn, embellished with plaques and pommel cap in silver. The straight steel blade is single edged. It is inset on both sides and on top with scrolling and foliate motifs in silver. The scabbard is of two halves of light wood, the upper part embellished with silver work. Condition: grip with a crack and lost silver plaques. Blade with missing silver insets and little corroded.
