A striped plain weave cover, consisting of eight widths sewn together. Made of wool, dyed with natural colors. Most probably made by the Shahsavan nomads and dating from the 2nd half of 19th century. Condition: clean, one small area with old mends (near undone seam, see picture 12), another small mend, little tiny thin areas, the selvages needs a fixation. Dimension: 188 cm x 156 cm.
A fragment of a yutan (furniture cover), the brocade with orange brown ground showing the design in rows of five-clawed dragons alternating with clouds. Woven in polychrome silk and silvered strips of paper. With applied Japanese family crest roundel of triple hollyhock, worked in silk with couched gold threads. Condition and dimension of small box: few minor losses, maybe with later varnishing, lock with missing key; 22 cm x 16.5 cm x 10.5 cm. Larger box: some losses and worm holes, two small old repairs (see picture 12); 28.2 cm x 19 cm x 9 cm. Weight together: 1500 g.
A repousse silver box with slightly domed lid. Decorated with dragons and scholars playing a game in a landscape. Bottom marked "KY" and Chinese characters. Condition: lid with partially dented area. Dimension: 4.6 cm high, diameter: 5.3 cm, weight: 64 g.
Chinese silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) mounted as scroll with figured silk mounting. Depicting warriors on horseback with fine painted details, the background is woven in gold thread. Condition: fine, mounting with some wrinkles and few tiny stains. Dimension: kesi: 48.5 cm x 25.6 cm, total: 85.5 cm x 32.8 cm.
Three rectangular wooden boxes with hinged lid. A Qajar Khatamkari box with inlaid micro-mosaic of colored woods, brass and bone, forming different stellar motifs. The two Ottoman caskets inlaid with mother-of-pearl and different woods, one with inlays in tortoiseshell. All with later velvet lining and bottom covered with felt. Condition: traces of usage, lost inlays. Dimension: 13.8 cm, 17.8, 13.4 cm long.
A brass bowl of rounded form with engraved decoration and beautiful patina. Between two bands of interlace decorated with quatrefoils, arabesques and calligraphic inscriptions. Base with islamic numerals. Condition: some wear, little dents, a small crack. Dimension: diameter: 24 cm, 12.2 cm high, weight: 1145 g.
Decorated to the four straight sides with a flowering plant or a river landscape. The rounded sloping shoulder ending in a pewter-mounted neck. Condition: stopper is lost, edges with chips. Dimension: 24.2 cm high, weight: 1000 g.
A woven silk tapestry panel with painted details, maybe a fragment from a dragon robe. Depicting a full-face, five-clawed long dragon worked in metal wrapped thread above a mountain and waves. Bordered with later brocade and lined with silk. Condition: little faded and worn, few old mends. Dimension kesi: 33.7 cm x 23.7 cm, total: 47.5 cm x 37.7 cm.
A Mandarin square dating from the end of the 19th century. A male front insignia with an appliqued silver pheasant bird, denoting the fifth civil rank. Counting stitch embroidery on gauze in vivid colored silks and metal threads. Brocade bordering and yellow silk lining. Condition: slightly faded and worn, no sun disk. Dimension: total: 28.8 cm high x 30.1 cm wide.
