Cantonese high quality export fan with lacquer box. The leaves made of silk and paper beautifully painted in gouache, gold and silver. One side with warriors and horses, the other side with phoenix and flowers. The sticks and guards of lacquered wood, finely painted in different gold tones. Condition: pristine, box with minor wear. Dimensions: length of guard: 28 cm, open fan is c. 50 cm wide, box: 31.4 cm long, weight: 268 g.

Lap desk with carved wood panels depicting lions, dogs, elephants and birds among tendrils. Framed by Sadeli micro mosaic, bone and ebony banding. Fitted interior with several compartments made of sandalwood and lined with red velvet or green fabric. Functioning lock with key. Condition: all knobs replaced, missing banding and Sadeli mosaic. Carved panels chipped. Dimension: closed: 32.2 cm wide x 24.2 cm deep, 8.5 cm high, weight: over 2 kg.
