Marked "LW" and Chinese characters standing for Luenwo, a silversmith active in Shanghai in the late 19th and early 20th century. Condition: fine, maybe minimally distorted. Waist-length sleeveless silk garment for a child or a very young woman. Fastened at the sides with four flat gilt metal buttons, depicting a sailing ship. Embroidered in vivid colors and metal thread couching with butterflies and roundels among flowers. Iron red and blue silk lining.
