An antique, beautifully worked Sinhalese dagger with its original scabbard. The grip is of finely carved horn, embellished with plaques and pommel cap in silver. The straight steel blade is single edged. It is inset on both sides and on top with scrolling and foliate motifs in silver. On the sides alternating wide and narrow panels with flowers, auspicious symbols and geometric design. On the outside sketchy wide and narrow panels. The glazed base with adhering kiln-sand.
