Japanese woodblock print showing the Hikone Castle among pines, by the sosaku hanga artist Okiie Hashimoto (1899 - 1993). Commissioned work in a limited edition by the UBS, Switzerland. Signed, titled "Matsu to Shiro", numbered 603/1300, 1972 in pen. Dimensions: approx. 29.1 cm x 39.1 cm. Condition: Very good, except upper right margin with some light stockflecks: used printing paper not completely acidfree.

A wall vase made of beige greyish clay, depicting five men under pine trees. Thickly glazed in blue, green, white and blue flambe, the faces and hands with orange matt glaze. Condition: Good, a baking imperfection (see enlargement 8), a tiny loss to one man's goatee. Dimensions: 18,2 cm high x 15,4 cm wide x 8 cm deep. Weight: 1095 gram.

A young mother breast feeds her child. She is sitting and looking dearly at her baby. The small figure is masterly carved in light hardwood. Signed on the underside of the plinth MD. RUNDA. -- In the 1930's mainly the European artists Rudolf Bonnet and Walter Spies animated the Balinese carvers and painters to create modern non functional artwork. -- Condition: fine, some brighter parts due to age. Dimensions: 15 cm high x 13,5 cm long x 7 cm wide.
