Lot of four Chinese Civil Official Rank Badge, c. 1900.

The first is a female front badge of the 4th rank with an applied wild goose. Bordered embroidery with couched metallic threads. Backed ( some adhesive tape residue), faded, worn, some loose and missing threads. 32.5 cm x 32.5 cm. The second piece is a female front badge of the 5th rank with an applied silver pheasant , sun disk made of coral beads, bordered embroidery with silk and couched metallic threads. Backed, some loose threads and beads missing, silk with splits, wear. 32.8 cm x 36.5 cm. The third is a male front badge of the 7th rank with an applied mandarin duck. Embroidery in silk and couched metallic threads, sun disk made of coral beads. Backed, out of shape, few missing coral beads. 26 cm x 28 cm The fourth is a male front badge of the fifth rank with an applied silver pheasant. Embroidery on gauze with silk and couched metallic threads. Trimmed, backed, some loose and missing threads. 27.2 cm x 30.4 cm.
