| An original color woodblock print by the English Elizabeth Keith (1887 - 1956). Keith was one of the foreign artists successful in ukiyo-e printmaking. She was born in Scotland and came to Japan in 1915 for the first time, making several trips to China and Korea. A large oban depicting two Korean men playing the Korean chess "Janggi". Oval seal with EK and 1921. Signed. Reference: Elizabeth Keith: The Printed Works by R. Miles: No. 65, color plate p. 20 and 21. Condition: fine color and impression, all margins trimmed, tiny paperloss on one edging, two borders with browning, few tiny stockflecks. Dimension: 31.2 cm x 42 cm. | |||||||||||||
