| Former in the collection of Hayashi Tadamasa, a Japanese art dealer who introduced traditional Japanese art such as ukiyo-e to Europe. An original Japanese color woodblock print with blind-printing by Katsukawa Shunko I (1743 - 1812), a pupil of Shunsho. Yakusha-e in hosoban size depicting the actor Iwai Hanjiro IV (1753 - 1800). Signed Shunko ga and red collector's seal of Hayashi Tadamasa, on reverse collector's no. Date: c. 1780. Condition: fine impression. Trimmed, faded, borders slightly browned, 2 tiny wormholes, reverse with tape residue. Dimension: 30.6 cm x 13.8 cm. | |||||||||||
