An ancient Egyptian miniature faience amulet of a squatting baboon. The god Thoth was particularly associated with scribes. Dates to circa the New Kingdom, Ca. 1550-1070 BC. Top of head missing however much nicer than the picture captures. Measures 25 mm. Provenance: Gustave Jequier (1868-1946) Authentication: Gayle Gibson, Egyptologist. For reference see: C.
