Paul Jacoulet, La Perruche Morte. Celebes
This extremely popular print is an example of a concept that now seems more important as a black and white key block print, with its expert, Matisse like line. The colors lessen the impact of the sorrow of the island maiden with her dead pet parakeet, and the accusation of excessive emotionalism is hard to contradict.

Paul Jacoulet, Femme Tatouee, This is undoubtedly one of Jacoulet's most haunting and desirable images. This print was Jacoulet's personal favorite, and hung for many years over his bed. Credit, (excerpt) The Prints of Paul Jacoulet, by Richard Miles. Perfect condition.
This is that rare first edition, the paper is a little tired but the near perfection of the image and the scarcity of this print make it one of the best, if not the best Jacoulet finds in many years.
