This is a handsome 19th century Cromwellian-style armchair with wonderful leather embossment and hand carved figural arm supports, the rectangular green leather padded back with embossed country theme of floral and fauna, a similar embossed padded seat with a center griffin, one of the barley twist arm supports having a carved bearded male bust, the other with a female bust, the legs are joined by barley-twist turned stretchers, all original, this chair has excellent color and patina. This is a wonderful unmarked sterling silver miniature perfumer, ca. 1890, with stopper, no funnel. The medallion shape is highlighted by delicate scrolling and it is decorated with a crisp diaper pattern surrounding a central shield where an initial could be engraved.
