This is an unusual vintage Brilliant Period cut crystal inkwell, with hinged jockey cap lid of brass and brightly striped enamel; ca. 1930, from the Saratoga estate of the late Tommy Luther, prominent American jockey and founder of the original jockey guild; of square form, decorated with columns of notched prisms; condition: some minor chips on prism edges, wear to enamel; measurement: 2 _ inches x 2 _ inches, and 3 _ inches high.
This handsome Art Nouveau cast metal inkwell would be the perfect finishing touch for a gentleman’s desk; richly cast in petal form with hinged dome lid and pen rest, on raised feet; it has a nice weighty feel; with a beautiful green enameled metal well insert; condition: excellent; very, very slight wear at high points; measurement : 5 inches diam. 2 _ inches high.
