A colorful Japanese Art Deco man's juban (under kimono), comprising a crazy quilt pattern of wonderful period hand-woven silk crepe fabrics in rich colors of indigo, red, green and purple, and brown, circa 1930, decorative trim and frog clasp, hand stitched, blue silk lining. Measurements: Sleeve tip to tip-48", shoulder to bottom hem-49"; A beautiful example of Art Deco fabrics in fair condition with frayed silks and lining fading, easily restored. Vintage Folk Art Chinese silk doily embroidered with good luck symbols of butterflies and bats and a centered peony, framed in a black linen border with gray silk binding in period shades of green, purple and hot pink, natural linen backing, easily opens to make a pillow if desired. Size: 13 1/2" x 9 1/4". Pretty design and soft colors, embroidery in fine condition; freyed binding and moderate run of thread colors on silk.
Lovely antique silk Chinese panel embroidered with metallic wires framing flowers and butterflies in jewel tones of purple, blue, raspberry, and gold, natural linen backing, black silk border, easily opens to make a pillow if desired. Size: 12 1/4" x 8 1/4". Condition is good overall. Loose metallic wires, border seams need re-stitching, some loose embroidery threads.
