This is an unusual Vienna ruby-ground tea canister, late 19th /early 20th century, signed "Kruzka", bearing the blue beehive marked and inscribed "Sapho"; hand painted with a rectangular cartouche of the goddess Sappho in an elaborately chased gilt surround with similarly decorated rectangular cartouche of putti; also decorated with chased gilt medallions of birds and foliate scroll.
Condition: slight gilt wear, Measurements: 6 in. H

This estate piece is a lovely Dresden cream-ground vase and cover, 19th century, of fluted cylindrical form; bearing the Dresden mark; entirely hand painted with chased gilt-enriched grapeleaf and foliate panels and medallions in shades of claret, pale blue, pale pink, green and royal blue; the cover decorated with a seeded and chased gilt Greek key border and a chased gilt finial; the inside of the vase having scattered gold cloverleaf design.
