This is a spectacular Copeland Spode 13-piece ice cream set, bearing the Spode green mark circa 1883-1891, impressed date mark for 1885, and pattern number 3917, an overall blue and white chinz-like pattern. Set consists of a tray with shell handle and beaded gilt rim and twelve square dishes decorated with blue leaves and flowers on a pin dot ground; condition: mint condition: gilt rims show no wear, no chips, cracks; 6 dishes feature the blue flower and pin dot pattern on the underside; the tray and 6 dishes do not; measurements: tray: 16 _ inches long x 9 _ inches wide; dish: 5 7/8 inches square.
