Price of $850 includes insured shipping anywhere in the U.S.
This exquisite red-haired "Wendy helps mummy in the garden sometimes" doll is documented in the "Alexander-Kins for 1955" brochure as design #422 -- though it's VERY hard to believe this pristine charmer is almost 50 years old.
Rosy-cheeked as the day she was made and in perfect working order, she honestly looks brand-new and her checked gingham dress and rickrack-trimmed turquoise pinafore are factory-crisp. She even has her little yellow garden spade. The only fault we can find is the usual problem with stretched socks and shoes lacking straps; those snap shoes and weird socks were a menace! Replacing these is a wonderful pair of red and gold sandals from the same era (included). Wendy will come to you in her original box, marked 422 and sporting a Texas shop's $3.95 price tag. In good though not perfect condition, the box still contains a piece of that famous pink tissue.
You'd have to look a long time to find a red-haired Wendy this old in such fantastic condition.
Thanks for looking!

This enchanting emerald and diamond ring from London has a delicacy that vanished by 1920, so can be no later than Late Victorian or Edwardian. Its centerpiece is a richly colored natural emerald, probably Columbian according to the certified gemologist who evaluated it (who was then president of their national association). This round stone has what's called a mixed cut and its weight, estimated by measurement, is 0.16 carats. Surrounding it are two meticulously hand-assembled levels of pear-shaped white gold plates, six at each level. These are set with 12 single-cut diamonds averaging about 1 point each (for a total weight of about 0.12 carats). Including its 18k white gold shank and circular open-backed three-level cluster top with open wire gallery, the ring tips the scales at 1.6 pennyweights. Current size is about a U.S. 5 but, because the band isn't ornamented, it can easily be sized to fit any finger.
What a dazzler this is (and a great match for our emerald earrings and pendant, if you feel like a splurge). BTW, a very similar ring but with only ONE layer of diamonds is online priced at $1,250.

A hallmark of Edwardian (and late Victorian) style was the use of white gold in combination with yellow. Seeming to float against their white setting, a halo of diamonds surrounds this beautifully cut oval peridot. The band is of yellow gold. Acquired at a major antiques fair in London, this item was valued at $700 a dozen years ago. (The appraisal, which will be provided to the purchaser, reflects only 1990 replacement cost, new - no antique value.)
In U.S. sizing, the ring would fit about sizes 5 to 6 now and could be easily enlarged or cut down since the band isn't ornamented.

Of intricate floral design, this exquisite, air-light confection of vermeil (gilded silver) filigree dates from the early 19th century - before Victoria's reign, according to the specialist dealer who sold it to me. Acquired in northern New Mexico, it's of Spanish origin and in absolutely awe-inspiring condition. It honestly looks as if it's never been worn, only treasured.
Measuring almost 1 1/4" wide and 7 1/2" long (plus hook-style clasp), this highly collectible, very early piece has been in my own family for almost 30 years. In 1975 I gave it to my mother, who wore it only on special occasions. I'd keep it now gladly, but it's a bit too large and would slide off my hand. Rather than risk damage, I want it to have another good home. Thanks for looking!

A full yard (36") of beautiful, graduated white coral beads form this flapper-length necklace, still in its original Tiffany pouch. A family heirloom not worn for 60 or 70 years, it finally emerged from the bank vault in mint condition. The strand is heavy and drapes with wonderful grace. As versatile as pearls, these are a lot less expensive!
Though this lovely necklace is gone now, many more exceptional antique and vintage jewels are here in our Trocadero catalog. Please have a look, or e-mail erinharris@comcast.net to discuss what you're hoping to find.

This sinuous bracelet wraps an arm with quintessential Art Nouveau drama. (Sarah Bernhardt, eat your heart out!) Heavily ornate but comfortably lightweight, it's unmarked but was sold as silver by a London dealer. This is a really ravishing piece, one of the prettiest Victorian bracelets I've ever seen and sure to elicit loads of compliments.
Though this item is taken, please see our online catalog for other fine Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco pieces or e-mail erinharris@comcast.net to discuss what you're hoping to find. Thanks for looking!

Reduced from $225...
More than 23" long including its teardrop, this spectacular strand of Roman ceramic and polished stone beads was purchased in its present form from an expert antiquities dealer in East Anglia. It's a real dazzler! At this length, it has no need of a clasp, so doesn't have one. (Please note: The loose beads visible in photo are not included.)
If you're thinking 'gift,' we do gorgeous wrapping free and will gladly ship presents with your message, wherever you say. Insured mailing within the US is always gratis at GlitzQueen.
