Madame Alexander's fashionable "big girl" dolls were every little girl's dream in the 1950's & now collectors dream of dolls like these. With just 1 owner since childhood, Cissy & Elise spent 5 decades packed in this trunk of cherry metal with white stripes & brass fittings. It still has its key & Cissy has her "diamond" ring & beaded bag! (To replace the ring of a careless doll, an owner recently had to spend $35 at e-Bay.)
A 20" blonde, our blue-eyed Cissy has the rosiest cheeks & knees + original tagged dress of factory-crisp taffeta, styled like a jumper over a blouse. Outfit includes white straw hat, lace petticoat, lace-trimmed panties & seamed nylons in fine condition. Blue shoes need lining & elastic. Here she wears a vintage teddy, untagged but high quality.
Elise dolls were often sold in basic form. Ours is a hazel-eyed blonde in classic MA teddy (in fine shape), pink heeled shoes with tightened elastic & frankly shattered nylons (now replaced by new pantyhose) With jointed ankles, Elise measures 16" toe-dancing, 15 1/2" flat.
Very suitable for display, both are unfaded, with pretty hair & "posable" jointed arms & knees. The star-spangled trunk, about 19 1/2" x 11" x 10", has deep drawers holding new finery & vintage clothes.
Save hundreds by buying entire collection of remaining dolls from same estate. Please e-mail for details & more photos.

Price of $850 includes insured shipping anywhere in the U.S.
This exquisite red-haired "Wendy helps mummy in the garden sometimes" doll is documented in the "Alexander-Kins for 1955" brochure as design #422 -- though it's VERY hard to believe this pristine charmer is almost 50 years old.
Rosy-cheeked as the day she was made and in perfect working order, she honestly looks brand-new and her checked gingham dress and rickrack-trimmed turquoise pinafore are factory-crisp. She even has her little yellow garden spade. The only fault we can find is the usual problem with stretched socks and shoes lacking straps; those snap shoes and weird socks were a menace! Replacing these is a wonderful pair of red and gold sandals from the same era (included). Wendy will come to you in her original box, marked 422 and sporting a Texas shop's $3.95 price tag. In good though not perfect condition, the box still contains a piece of that famous pink tissue.
You'd have to look a long time to find a red-haired Wendy this old in such fantastic condition.
Thanks for looking!
