If you follow fashion, you *know* bracelets are being worn on both arms, often several at a time, so we all need more of them now! Here's a really unusual, conversation-piece bangle finely detailed with two stylized lions in sphinxlike pose, their manes resembling a Pharoah's head-dress. It's also decorated on the sides and infinitely adjustable to fit any wrist (or you could even wear it farther up your arm). The metal is quite sturdy and has a *real gold* look, though I assume it's a brass alloy (possibly gilded). Probable dating is mid-20th century. Origin is either Egypt or nearby East Africa.

This 28-inch multi-strand necklace, obviously hand-crafted, dates from the 1920s. Iridescent green glass beads add vivid accents to the sophisticated white and black pattern that finishes with a 3 ½-inch fringed tassel. It's in lovely condition. A similar necklace is pictured on page 85 of "Collectible Costume Jewelry ID and Value Guide" by S. Sylvia Henzel and valued at $175.

Silver beads accent black glass ones in this Art Deco period necklace - obviously hand-beaded, probably in New Mexico for the lively tourist trade of the 1920s. It measures 27” long with a 2 ½ ” fringed tassel. A similar necklace is shown on page 85 of "Collectible Costume Jewelry ID and Value Guide" by S. Sylvia Henzel and valued at $175.00. Price of this piece reflects damage to two strands of beads on the tassel. The damage is fairly minor and should be easy to repair.

From an important collection recently at auction, this very striking ring belonged to Fred Rezazadeh, author of "The Collectible Silver Jewelry Box" and "Costume Jewelry: A Practical Handbook & Value Guide." Obviously of quality and age, although no marks are present, this stunning ring has quite a large face - jeweled with turquoise and coral in a Modernist grid pattern that reminds me of a Mondrian painting. The materials are Southwestern, so the piece is likely Native American, dating from the mid-20th century. (Hallmarks now assure us when we're buying genuine Native American jewelry, but that wasn't always the case.) Size is currently about a U.S. 4, but the band can be easily enlarged by your jeweler. You might also ask the jeweler to test silver content and clean this fabulous ring safely; I haven't cleaned it at all (with the result that the silver looks somewhat golden with tarnish).

This stunning handcrafted ring comes from the collection of Fred Rezazadeh, author of "The Collectible Silver Jewelry Book" and "Costume Jewelry: A Practical Handbook & Value Guide." It clearly displays age and quality and its scale is large enough to suit a man's hand as well as a woman's. The tall shield-shaped face is jeweled with turquoise and coral mosaic in a Modernist grid pattern that reminds me of a Mondrian painting. The materials are Southwestern, so the piece is likely Native American, dating from the first half of the 20th century (probably 1930s or 1940s). Hallmarks now assure us when we're buying genuine Native American jewelry, but that wasn't always the case.
Size is currently about a US 6 1/2, easily adjusted by your jeweler. Exact silver content is unknown, but it must be considerable, since the setting looks almost golden with tarnish (which we left untouched, in deference to the purists among us).
There's no charge for insured U.S. shipping and gift-wrap is always free when desired. Please -emaili to confirm availability, order or request more photos. Thanks for looking!

Here's a head-turning necklace for you! Whenever I wear it, compliments flow and everyone mistakes it for genuine amber.
Adding to the look of sheer opulence, 9 very ornate spacer beads feature among the rugged faux-amber slices. The beads certainly contain some silver, since they tarnish. I believe this jewel is of Middle Eastern origin, dating from the early part of the 20th century. The chain is like nothing I've ever seen before, sort of in the "paperclip" style but not quite. Obviously it's hand-made.
