Carved from beautifully grained ivory, this vintage brooch shaped like a feather fan comes from a Florida estate and measures 1 3/4" wide by 2 1/2" in length. The design screams Art Deco. Most likely the piece was kept in a display case since the 1920s or 1930s, since its modern pinstem assembly looks like a recent addition. Supporting the view that it can't have been worn much is the superb condition of the carving.
