These gigantic (2 1/4" x 1 5/8") shoe clips are exquisitely detailed with a repousse pattern that looks like cut steel, resembling the color of pewter. The embossed beading is so smooth that the outer surface feels silky to the touch and the reverses are covered with wonderful aged black fabric (a little loose but unfrayed and easily reglued by the next owner). Fancy jeweled shoes are making huge fashion news now. To get the look without breaking the bank, shoe clips are the answer. These Deco or Retro shoe clips are real dazzlers, with two rows of brilliant rhinestones all around. The elongated shape, a sort of rectangle with ears, is of course *very* Art Deco, so my best guess is that they date from the 1930s.
